Using our extensive workshop facilities and skilled staff we undertake a certain number of complete bike restorations per year.
We have an excellent reputation for providing superb looking bikes that actually function and are a pleasure to ride. Having your classic professionally restored is expensive (as is any type of restoration be it a classic car, boat or any antique) but it does have many advantages.
All the work carried out on your bike would be of the highest standard, by professionals who have a vast amount of experience of your type of bike. All the work (except the chromeplating , but we do the prep work) is carried out at SRM, so all repairs can be carried out to our exacting standards. SRM has always been about good engineering and using modern ideas to help the performance and reliability of your classic motorcycle. Some owners require a very exact standard and original restoration, and we can respect this, however others are willing to sacrifice a little originality for better performance and reliabilty. We take particular care and attention to the engine performance, brakes and suspension, upgrading and improving reliability and safety.
You would be able to instruct us on the specification of the rebuild so the end product is the bike that you have always wanted (rather than having to buy a restored bike and have it changed to the way you want it).
A rough estimate is given once we have seen the extent of the restoration and a deposit is required before work is started. From there on the work continues in stages and payments follow each stage.A report and photos after each stage allow you to follow the restoration. An itemised invoice is issued at each stage so you have an accurate picture of the work that has been done and the parts used.
